All-County has very specific selection procedures, and is very competitive. In a general sense, teachers submit their recommendations to an all-county selection committee, who then make decisions based on a number of factors as follows:

- “Representation.” Every dues paying music teacher gets at least one student.
- NYSSMA Scores – After representation selection committees look at all of the students recommended for each instrument, then pick from the highest scores to fill up the section. Once a section is full, it is full.

Course offerings @ Mineola Middle School:
- Students in Grades 5-7 may enroll in Chorus, Band, or Orchestra. These courses meet 3 times per cycle (every other day).
- Students in 7th Grade may enroll in a new course in lieu of a performing group. This new Digital Music Exploration class will provide students opportunities to learn foundations of music. Composition, Performance, Active/Academic Listening Music History and Music Theory will be explored.
